Servomotors

KollMorgen Servomotors

Integrating our sourced servo motors into your motion control system provides precise control of motion patterns and profiles more readily. You will have exact control of torque, speed, and position. Therefore, position error is greatly reduced. KollMorgen brushless servomotors are available in the highest torque/inertia ratio over a broad range of speeds—including high speed capabilities up to 8,000 rpm for standard designs and up to 70,000 rpm for special designs. With no brushes or commutators, these motors offer outstanding performance with minimal maintenance.

Common Uses for Brushless Servomotors

Some typical applications are: machine tools, packaging machinery, robotics use, solar panel control, and a broad range of automation control functions. They’re designed for general-purpose use indoors, but also available for special environments including extreme temperatures/pressures and special demands like that of the food industry (wash down conditions).

Brushless Servomotors General Features

  • Generally used for higher torque applications
  • Less friction and highly reliable
  • Rapid acceleration/deceleration
  • Commutations are done electronically, rather than mechanically
  • Virtually maintenance free
  • Available in stainless steel and food grade housing

AKM Series

The AKM Series gives you unprecedented choice and flexibility, with the industry’s largest standard selection of servomotors and the ability to quickly co-engineer modifications to perfectly fit your application. Paired with the outstanding torque density and precision of our AKD Series drives, these servo systems provide the exact specifications of a custom solution with the affordability and fast delivery of a standard solution.

VLM

Featuring AKD Servo Drives, this low cost motor is designed for superior torque-per-dollar and optimal performance. They come available in both NEMA and Metric mounting standards with multiple shaft configurations for seamless integration into any system. Multiple feedback and cable options give customers flexibility in their system configuration without adding significant cost.

Stainless Steel W Series

This series of motors meet the highly regulated specifications of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries for sterile and aseptic environments. The Stainless Steel series is designed for high pressure, high temperature, and caustic washdown applications. The round motor reduces square edges that could allow for the build-up of foreign material and bacteria. Standard features include feedback and power cables that allow for the easy venting of the motor to prevent internal condensation.

KollMorgen Goldline Series

The Goldline Series has become the industry standard for performance in high response, point-to-point motion applications. They feature a permanent interior magnet design that provides superior torque and power density in low or medium inertia motor. Explosion-proof and deep water models are available.

Serviced Motors

KollMorgen can replace or service motors that are not currently available for new applications.
